Tenants will be able to securely enroll in automatic monthly rent payments. This is a planning placeholder — no enrollment is available yet, and no banking or card information will be collected here.

Pre-Authorized Bank Withdrawal

PAD / EFT withdrawal from a Canadian bank account on a scheduled monthly date.

Recurring Credit Card Payments

Scheduled card payments through an approved processor, if supported by the tenant's lease.

This feature is currently under development. Automatic payment setup is not yet available. Front Step PEI will not collect banking or card information until a secure, approved processor is connected.

FUTURE ARCHITECTURE

Business rules for automatic payments

  • Automatic payments apply to the lease, not individual tenants.
  • All lease holders remain equally responsible for the tenancy agreement.
  • Automatic payments do not change lease obligations.
  • Payment credentials will never be stored directly by Front Step PEI.
  • All banking and card information will be handled by approved third-party payment processors.
  • The tenant portal will only store payment status, authorization status, transaction references, and receipts.
